The satirical disclaimer for South Park appears at the start of most episodes just before the title sequence. The disclaimer is an in-joke to the program. It references the facts such as the show using real-life events and people as well as fictional. Frosty, when Kenny an early version of Cartman who was named Kenny is thrown by Frosty and dies.

For the rest of the show until " Fourth Grade ", the instrumental with the prominent guitar was utilized, with minor but noticeable changes made starting with Season Three. Additionally, Kenny McCormick 's line was completely changed, with the replacement of his lines and a higher pitch.
Over the course of the series, certain lyrics have been changed, including an entire verse, originally sung by Kenny McCormick , sung by Timmy Burch in the Season Six intro due to Kenny's temporary death in the Season Five episode " Kenny Dies ".
From the episode " Fourth Grade ", to " Kenny Dies ", a hip-hop version of the song was used, which was remixed by Paul Robb. Afterward, they used a bluegrass remix of the song until mid- Season Ten , where the original song was remixed with "Whamola" by Les Claypool and his group, The Frog Brigade, from their album, Purple Onion. When Comedy Central started airing reruns of older episodes, the opening theme was back to the way it was during Season Three , with the addition of several recent characters.

Right after the teacher tells Kenny he should transfer to shop class he says "Shop class! Oh no! This must've tickled Matt and Trey pink, much like they obviously were when the word "s--t" was allowed on cable TV on any show that aired after a certain time. South Park 's time slot allowed them to freely use the word, and in the first episode that aired with the new FCC ruling, the show's creators put a "s--t" counter on the screen that would rack up another number whenever a character said the word.
Although the theme's more or less stayed the same over time, there have been some changes to it, along with one-off episodes featuring all new songs.
