So much for relative truth! Jesus is not the first victim of relative truth, nor the last. This notion that there is no universal truth is very dangerous. If all truth changes from person to person and from situation to situation, there is no firm ground, no reference point. There's a valid contradiction for everything. When you listen to Jesus, you hear the truth. He is the voice of truth. Most people would treat that as nonsense. In other words, Mr. Subjective must say that the only standard for truth is that there is no standard, which, of course, is an objective standard…right?
That said, lest you underestimate just how problematic Mr. First, a physician once told me about a year-old patient who was biologically a man but was living as a woman. At an office visit, the patient requested a mammogram because this was standard of care for a woman of this age to avoid breast cancer. However, when this doctor suggested that the patient get a prostate exam, which is standard of care for a man of this age to avoid cancer, the patient refused because the patient believed and felt that he was a woman.
You see, the physician was emphasizing an objective truth and the patient preferred a subjective truth, even at the risk of death. Second, there is a young woman I have known for many years, who, unfortunately, struggles with an eating disorder.
Although she is underweight for her height and frame, when she looks in the mirror, she feels significantly overweight. So much so that she often throws up after her meals, exercises excessively, even at the risk of her life. Indeed, she rejects the objective truth that her bathroom scale shows her. So, when this young woman goes for treatment, she is encouraged to embrace the fact that there is truth separate from what she believes and feels to be true. It demands an answer…the right answer.
Our very lives depend on it. Some pro-choice activists now publicly defends infanticide. Add a comment. Active Oldest Votes. Improve this answer. I'm inclined to agree that "What is truth? Pilate seems to be expressing the opinion that Christ is not to be taken seriously, but that's a good thing when the charge against Christ is claiming to be the king of the Jews. From Pilate's point of view, a "king" who, at his trial, philosophises about "truth" is no threat to Roman rule and can safely be acquitted.

I'm not arguing the validity of what you say, but this would be a much better answer if you had supporting references. As it is, it reads like a personal understanding rather than an established teaching.
See What makes a good supported answer? I bet you could find such references fairly easily, an I'd encourage you to do so and help by sharing your knowledge!
